  • 3pm - comm ave + bc res - 11mi

ran out to the track then hopped in the oh-so-plush new van to get dropped off somewhere on comm ave. a duck is not a goose, i’m sorry. anyway…did the usual comm ave run (what is over that bridge?!) then picked it up for 2 laps around the bc res. …at least that’s what we were supposed to do. i’m still feeling like 10/5 so i really don’t think my pace changed too much. ugghh. ran back home AFTER dinner at t-anthony’s. oh yea.

  • 4pm - charles street city loop - 8mi

down beacon to charles street then up and around through downtown crossing. came home via boylston/newbury. a nice easy run, feeling a bit better. did some abs before hand w/ the sleaze.

  • 4pm -res - 9mi

usual warm-up to the ttc then to the res. workout was 2k, 1k, 1k. got 5 mins after the 2k then 3 after the ones. i felt terrible. 10/5. the actual workout had another 2k but i stopped before it. legs have nothing in them. ran straight home afterward.

  • 9:00 - comm ave. + - 11.5mi

mosied out to the ttc then piled into the van. blindfolding was a no go (incredibly disappointing, but we tried to keep the spirits high). bruce dropped us off where comm ave crosses 90 (i think…i’ll check on this later). a little rough getting going, but then kept feeling better and better as the run went on. ran for a ways with the recruit and then finished with ck and proctor. one of the best runs i’ve ever had. AND it’s sunny!

finished at the ttc (for 9.5mi on the comm ave run) then mosied to trader joes to get some goods. mmm gooods….

more boiling and simmering. 5-4-5 then 4-3-4 (bsb, sbs). felt really good, nice and muddy which made it all the more enjoyable. thinking i probably slowed too much on the simmers though. feeling good!

ran out to the ttc then hopped in the new lunch box to get dropped off at jamaica pond along with some others. one lap around and then back home along the riverway. a nice relaxed time.

  • 4:30 - abbey’s mit loop - 7.75mi

another beautiful boston day had as all ra’ring to go (50s and rainy). run felt really good once i got going, but about 1/2 way through started feeling the wrath of the vanilla crisp pria bar i had immediately before the run. aside from the stomach pains a really good run.

  • 4pm - workout at res - 10mi

ran to the ttc, met up and warmed-up to the res. rain was coming down pretty good at first, it was nice. some stridage (4x) then, after a brief lesson in physics to give us the necessary background of the properties of a boiling pot of water…

bruce introduced the boil-simmer-boil workout.

6×3:00 w/ the odds boiling, simmering, then boiling and the evens simmering, boiling, and simmering. each state is held for a minute. with what else but 1:40 in between intervals.

felt pretty good, strong and all but the legs are definitely a bit tired from saturday. calves aren’t tight anymore so that’s good. achilles a little tender during strides but then didn’t feel it again. felt good to get the legs turning over during the boiling.

cooled down straight home.

all in all a fun workout. i mean, no alice in wonderland arb adventure, but as good as it gets at the res.
