I’m getting back into the usual schedule this week. Today was an easy day in the pool. Only one more run in Boston until break…
Had to be efficient today so I ran to work to pick-up my paycheck and then ran back via Beacon Hill. Felt good. Need exams to be done so I can return to a normal state of mind.
A little long, but it’s necessary during finals. By far the best I’ve ever felt on this loop. Felt faster and easier than I had run it during the summer and even during xc season. Definitely makes me feel better about being out for so long; I really don’t think I’ve lost anything endurance-wise, I actually feel much stronger.
Ran from the track to the Mass Ave bridge, then turned around. Felt good! …but my legs are sore from this foreign running action. Definitely good to run w/ Sleazy again, and also to run w/ Theresa for probably only the 4th time ever.
MBz with Lesley after. Feeling a lot stronger, by virtue of the MBz.
Did a shorter version of Marky Mark (cutting off JP and the woods). The beginning of the run didn’t feel too great, but by the time I got to the Res I was feeling awesome. Went straight to see the doctor who said I can start doing strides and other speedy stuff. Then went to Bruce and laid out a nice plan for the next few weeks. I’ll start doing strides every other day while slightly increasing my mileage: for now alternating between 4 and 6 miles each day with alternative thrown in as well. Next week I’ll increase to 5 and 7, and by New Years 7ish should be the usual. I won’t do any real track workouts until January. The goal is to be in decent race shape by the end of February.
So obviously I went and did 4×100m strides on the track and then mosied home. I’m really surprised by how good the strides felt; really fluid and not the least bit awkward.
Feeling tired physically and mentally. Today would be alternative so I’d rather take today as an off day and be able to run tomorrow.
Ran out to west, met up w/ everyone (YAY!) and set off for the city run. Turned around at Mass Ave w/ Claire since we were both going shorter. Returned to the TTC and did medicine ball drills with Leslie when everyone else finished. After, I ran back home.
It was so nice to run with everyone again! I missed it so much…I’m already looking forward to after Winter Break when it’ll be back to normal (i.e. I’m running with the team everyday). So happy.
