• big sky duathlon

this race was a surprisingly good time. it was out in the plains, about 30 minutes east of denver. it was a 4k run, 25k bike, 4k run. i felt really good on the first run and was leading my wave (all of the non-elite women) going into the biking. about 3 miles into the bike i got passed for the first time, then got passed by more than a few others over the next 12 miles. i passed all but 3 of them back on the second run and finished first in my age group. definitely a lot of fun. jordan came in 3rd overall, so we were both pretty happy.

when we got back to boulder we went tubing in the boulder creek. i was expecting a pretty mellow float down, but i’m not ashamed to say i was scared the whole way. and by scared, i mean terrified. …just something about big rapids, rocks that are really hard to see, and having an innertube as my only protection.
